By joining the CSP team you will be acquainted with fundamental principles of resistance training, plyometrics, mobility, conditioning, and armour building with the aim of enhancing your general physical attributes for grappling and striking sports.

CSP is a 4-day-a-week training plan consisting of:

I trained with Steve for a number of years, and listening to him talk grappling S&C it is evident his knowledge of anatomy and the demands grappling puts on the body is second to none. The hours of research, Steve’s coaching with high level grapplers like Izaak Michell and Charles Negromonte, and his own injury setbacks shows in how the CSP is designed for all grapplers from hobbyists to aspiring world champions. I’ve done many sport-based S&C programs over the years, which all consist of traditional squat, bench press and deadlift etc, CSP is different as it introduces new exercises and movement patters to keep your S&C sessions engaging and help you feel strong on the mats, especially for older or stiffer grapplers.

At CSP, you’ll develop foundational athletic qualities essential for combat sports through a combination of resistance training, plyometrics, and ballistic exercises. These methods are structured to improve force production, rate of force development, and power output, enhancing your performance in dynamic and high-intensity movements.

Minimise The Risk Of injury

We leave no stone unturned, at CSP we address areas that are often neglected in most training programs, like your neck, elbows, knees, and hands. These are the parts of your body that take a beating from repetitive, high-speed forces in combat sports, and we’re here to help you build the resilience you need to stay in the game.

MOVEMENT OPTIMISATION

The demands of combat sports will expose you to vulnerable positions where you’re expected to produce force. This program will have all your mobility requirements covered throughout the week to have you moving better on the mats.

CONDITIONING

There is nothing worse than losing a position, or submission due to a lack of cardiovascular fitness. At CSP you can expect to build a gas tank to last longer on the mats and recover faster in between workouts.
